1863, Pooley Bridge
Bar, Bistro and B&B Accommodation,
Ullswater the Lake District
BUILT DURING QUEEN VICTORIA’S REIGN IN 1863
For over 150 years, 1863 has quite literally been a cornerstone of the village. The property is set in the heart of Pooley Bridge, a pretty village on the shores of Ullswater in the Lake District. It was built first as the village blacksmith and later it became the post office.
REIMAGINED FOR THE 21st CENTURY
Now 1863 is more than a bar, bistro and B&B accommodation with seven elegant bedrooms; we are a family affair who enjoy getting the little things just right, welcoming guests back times and again to share in a slice of Lake District paradise.

We serve a good selection of beers, wines and spirits but what we’re really passionate about are our ‘beers of the month’.
